Hi Bombshells!!! Gigi, love the tips!!I didn’t realize I was a BOMBSHELL until 2.21.2012!!!
As a former single parent of a fabulous daughter (who is now 36 yrs old), I could only afford to shop at thrift stores and resale shops, but that’s not a complaint because I loved it and in Anchorage, Alaska and Dallas, Texas, I found some of the best places and deals. So coming from a family of women who were flight attendants, models, etc., I always thought I had a great since of style for MY age, body, skin & hair color, and the appropriateness determined by the occassion or venue. Well, I’d examine the garment, take it to be cleaned or use woolite, change buttons, etc. and voila’. In the purchase of a couple of sweaters or blouses, skirt, pr of trousers and scarves, I could have 4-5 wardrobe combinations. Well, that’s 15-20 yrs ago now and I’ve come a long way in that I’ve not HAD TO shop at those stores…but I still do from time to time, it’s so relaxing to me:)!
For the last 13 yrs I’ve developed patterns (slowly) in our lives to make it less stressful and more enjoyable in many areas. I do a closet audit for myself and husband no less than twice a year and rotate, discard clothing seasonally and I fill in the garments we need, because believe it or not, I HATE SHOPPING!!! I’m the kind of girl who goes out to buy with a specific goal of what is needed it. I find the items, sometimes with assistance and I’m outta there. In any event, there is an awesome feeling being able to get a last minute invitation to an event, or receive a last minute call from the hubby to pack a bag for a fun weekend getaway trip with ease. Knowing that you have choices of great fitting, clean, complimentary selections ready and set to go!!! It even feels good when my BFF’s say, “you always look so tailored and crisp”. One of them actually told me that when she took her daughter to see Clueless w/Alicia Silverstone in 1996, that when Cher was helping her friend with wardrobe selections she saw me. I think…no I KNOW that was a compliment. LOL!!! Spring is about here and I’m working on our Spring/Summer wardrobe NOW…accessories too! Thanks!
